Take a stand with us.
Your generous donations will help fund education initiatives and annual grants to local organizations working to prevent violence against women & children. Help us break the silence and make a difference, here, in Fond du Lac by supporting the efforts of the FDL Area Women’s Fund.
Why is this so important?
Our community needs to know about the alarming incidents of local domestic violence and sexual assault…
Including cultural/societal trends and statistics – and how they can make a difference – be it in the lives of their loved ones, in their neighborhoods and in our area communities.
Increased conversations won’t be easy, but they’ll be worth it. Community-wide awareness and more conversations are the first steps toward prevention.
On average, 90%* of local survivor service providers’ budgets are directed to services & support AFTER violence has occurred.
These services are absolutely critical and also need to be supported & funded by our community. However, our families, neighborhoods, and communities will benefit from a long term strategy to break the cycle and focus more efforts on prevention. * Average based on 2017 numbers shared by ASTOP, Solutions Center, and Agnesian Domestic Violence Services
Our work over the next 3 years will evaluate expanding current programs and creating new education & prevention programs and events, like expanded bystander intervention training. Additionally, efforts to actively involve men & boys in conversations in this collaborative work will be essential to short term impact and long term change.
We are stronger together.
Many organizations are already deep in the trenches and allies in the fight to end violence against women and children. The growth of this network benefits all organizations involved AND the greater community.
